I live in Copenhagen with my partner in crime, Cory. He is British, so at home we speak a weird mixture of Danish and English - with some made up words in the mix too. But it's okay, we are total geeks, which is why you also shouldn't feel under pressure when you are in front of my camera - I will make enough goofy comments for us all to laugh plenty and me to embarrass myself.
When I am not shooting weddings, editing, answering e-mails or meeting up with my lovely couples you might find me binge watching Netflix - I have no shame - drinking red wine with good friends and family or planning my next great big project; whether that being my next dinner party, a friend's baby shower, new interior projects for our little apartment, where we will travel next or my next styled photoshoot. I have an urge to create - I love solving problems, creating projects and dreams; the main focus being that it has to be visually pleasing! This means I am obviously a mad "pinner" – pinning my way through projects and themes is something I love to do. You can find my Pinterest here; it especially has lots of wedding inspiration boards. My passion for creating also means I love helping my couples plan out their big day, helping with creative problem-solving as well as helping find the right vendors that can realise their dreams and wishes.
I am 27 years old, and around 9 years ago I bought myself my first DSLR and since then it has been glued to my hand. After shooting for my own interest for a while I started shooting portraits of musicians, journalists, radio hosts and famous authors for the university paper RUST which led me to my first real photography job at the magazine WHERE2GO. I was so excited! My first real photography job! Here I had my own photo journal piece about Copenhagen and street photography for a few issues, before it unfortunately closed down. After this I started shooting for Soundvenue, the leading music & film magazine in Denmark. Here I got to shoot many photo reportages and portraits of various Danish and International artists here amongst: Bibi Bourelly (international singer and song writer), Nicolaj Lie Kaas (actor), Ukendt Kunstner (musicians), Cannibal Records (record label) and Tobias Lindholm (screenwriter & film director).
Believing I wanted to be a fashion photographer, I reached out to one of Denmark's leading fashion photographers Henrik Adamsen, and was very honored to assist him for roughly six months. At this point I realized I didn't want to be a fashion photographer, but wanting to further my photography development, Henrik Adamsen got me in touch with the talented story teller and photographer Tom Lindboe. This was a perfect fit, because I wanted to be a story teller too; at this point I had shot about 20 weddings and I knew I had found something I was passionate about, but I was afraid to give in to it, thinking I wouldn't be good enough - the unwritten Danish social "Law of Jante" (read about it here) had its deep claws in me. I worked with Tom Lindboe for two years (whilst studying my bachelor in Communications on the side); learning about how big international productions are organized, but most importantly I learned the importance of staying true to oneself. So that is what I did; with the encouragement from Cory, family and my mentor Tom, I decided I wanted to be a wedding photographer. When I finished my bachelor in the Summer of 2015 I decided to take a leap of faith and go full time as a wedding photographer – and I couldn't be happier. I am living my dream and I feel beyond honored that so many AMAZING couples want me to document their big day. I absolutely love it. I am one lucky girl!
